Build Steps (Simple Order)
- Install CPU and RAM on the motherboard.
- Install the CPU cooler (and thermal paste if needed).
- Mount the motherboard into the case.
- Install the power supply (PSU).
- Install storage (SSD/HDD).
- Install the graphics card (GPU).
- Connect power cables and front panel connectors.
- First boot and check BIOS.
Tools and items to have ready
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Small bowl or tray for screws
- Thermal paste (if your cooler does not come with pre-applied paste)
- Zip ties or Velcro straps for cable management
- A clean, well-lit workspace
Common mistakes to avoid
- Forgetting to plug in CPU power (EPS) near the top of the motherboard
- Installing RAM in the wrong slots (check the motherboard manual)
- Leaving the protective plastic on the cooler before mounting
- Not seating the GPU fully into the PCIe slot
- Missing front panel connectors so the PC won’t start
Quick check before first boot
- CPU cooler is mounted firmly and fan is plugged into CPU_FAN
- 24-pin motherboard power cable is connected
- CPU power cable is connected
- GPU power cables are connected (if required)
- Monitor is plugged into the GPU, not the motherboard
