Build Steps (Simple Order)

  1. Install CPU and RAM on the motherboard.
  2. Install the CPU cooler (and thermal paste if needed).
  3. Mount the motherboard into the case.
  4. Install the power supply (PSU).
  5. Install storage (SSD/HDD).
  6. Install the graphics card (GPU).
  7. Connect power cables and front panel connectors.
  8. First boot and check BIOS.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Forgetting to plug in CPU power (EPS) near the top of the motherboard
  • Installing RAM in the wrong slots (check the motherboard manual)
  • Leaving the protective plastic on the cooler before mounting
  • Not seating the GPU fully into the PCIe slot
  • Missing front panel connectors so the PC won’t start

Quick check before first boot

  • CPU cooler is mounted firmly and fan is plugged into CPU_FAN
  • 24-pin motherboard power cable is connected
  • CPU power cable is connected
  • GPU power cables are connected (if required)
  • Monitor is plugged into the GPU, not the motherboard
